SHORT is the new BEAUTIFUL
Mood:  energetic

Short is beautiful. Time was when a cricket match went on for 5 days. Today, T20's of the world have really arrived, and how! Times have changed, and whoever it was that said "great things come in short packages" must have been referring to the short films. This new avtaar of movies is slated to reform the notion of film making. Commercially viable and increasingly gaining acceptance worldwide, they truly have already come a looooong way, these short films! Remember KISS (keep it short, stupid) works!! (Except perhaps, in the context of a kiss itself :) )

And we are proud to announce: FulMarxx Shorts Fest-India's LARGEST Short Film Festival, 26th&27th April, 2008 at the soon-to-be Indie-Film Capital of India, AHMEDABAD. Hey, do we already hear protests about our dauntless use of the superlative adjective "largest", no qualms and all? Well, my dear prospective SFMs (Short Film Maker. It's a new acronym, we have coined it :) )

we have 101 reasons why we call ourselves the LARGEST!

Here are the top 3.

Reason# 1: Truly national. From the Bodos of Assam to the Gujjars of Gujarat, from the Monks of Ladakh to the Coconut planters of Kerela - we make sure we encourage participation from every region, nook and corner of the country.

COME, LET'S MAKE MOVIES....

Reason# 2: it's exclusive. SHORT MOVIES, ONLY SHORT MOVIES AND NOTHING BUT THE SHORT MOVIES. The obvious advantages ? no intermissions, no dragging stories, no nonsense !

Reason #3: big bucks! Money speaks, no it actually shouts. With more than 3 lakhs worth of prizes up for grabs, 1 lakh cash prize for the Best Short Film of the festival, Sony camcorders, Nokia N93 videophones, Apple Ipods, Syn Field's Screenwriting accessories- do we even have to whisper ?

Ashvin Kumar did it with "Little Terrorist". Vidhu Vinod Chopra did it with "An Encounter with Faces". That's history. But did someone say "history repeats?" It's your time now, to write the history. Yeah, right. WRITE. HISTORY. Start by writing a script.

GO MAKE THE MOVIE!!! AND KEEP IT SHORT, SMARTIE :)

THE INVITATION IS ON!
